Smile New Green Idea

ok...some people might think this idea sucks, some people might love it, but here goes....

Green Armor

For Example...You have just killed The Victo Guy....and whats this, he drops "Victo's Helmet" or "Victo's Leggings" these could drop with the rare or well know bosses, and they would be very rare, and only one piece would drop at a time. That way they would still be very rare, and reserved for the better player out there, or the rich ones

These would have special enhanced ability, like maybe, extra dmg or an extra speed boost, let me know what you think, my guildies think it would be a pretty sweet idea

The only thing is I don't think you can equip dropped armor can you? I guess it is an ok idea, I am all for rare and different drops, but to implement this it would probably have to salvage into something. I don't know.

Currently you can't salvage or dye green items. Hopefully they'd let you dye the armor.

i'd be happy to see that, it's actually one of the many things i've been thinkin about.
right now everyone pretty much has the exact same armor, and think it would add some variety to it.

The only thing I have in head is the umbalance, more farming and more other thing. Like in your example: running Boost. A dream for Runner for constant running. Damage boost, maybe a +5 for each armor but gives +25 for the full set for each attack.

Ello +42 barrage.

I dont sign for now.

Since when are games supposed to be totally balanced? Every game you play you are trying to get better than other people. Why let someone come in and within a short amount of time they're just like you.

How is that fun? The OP's post is original, adds new content, new challenge, more things to do and it's something that would be worth your time getting.

good pve idea, This will keep treasure hunters busy for a sometime.
but if A-net actualy do this, they need to do the same for pvp char....then it come down to this "this boot of mine is special..how??"

I am all for better looking armor, and more choice=P but for a game like GW that is all about fair competition, balance should come first=v=
as long as you to keep everything in balance, I will sign

Since Guild War
Seriously, if your idea of fun is build on "I play longer then you therefore I should outpower you noob", "I do more treasure hunt then you therefore I should kill you in 1 hit" then you are in the wrong game
I am surprise you actualy willing to stay and play this boring anti-godly item game.

And the op's idea is not original=P WoW did that, EQ did that, Diablo2 did that, load of other games did that.

I think a better idea for a green item would be the "I win" item, only one drops period. Equipting said item does just what the name says, you win.

PvP? Yup, you win.
PvE? Yup, you win.
Farming? Yup, you win.
Everything? Yup, you win.

Now, to keep it fair for everyone, since only one drops, it should go to player that posted this message. Yup, I win!

No, no. I think you should ONLY get the bonus if you have the WHOLE armor set. Instead of "+3" for each piece, it will be like "+15 damage (requires set)"

And to keep people from buying, selling, trading, or using them in PvP, they can be customized on drop.

Thing about customized on drop is that what would happen if you're an ele and it drops a warrior helm customized to your ele?

Not original at all. Like KESKI said. Even Dungeon Siege 1&2 are based on equipments.

When it was a new challenge to get green weapons now? Since the buff on the bosses? I dont think so.

I agree for the new content, but I disagree to make Guild Wars based on equipments and not on skills. This is another reason I stay neutral in this thread.

If they put this in GW, Anet must put them both PvE and PvP (maybe not the style if they do that but anyway). Perhaps you havent green weapons in PvP, but you can make them with mods you have unlocked. So they will put these armor in the list too.

Secondly, you think about a green armors when many players got rumors about Chapter 3: NightFall and new professions. Maybe the armor you think will be in Chapter 3 anyway.

Instead saying /signed and /not signed when you see a thread like this, think the overall in GW: The economy, the places, what happens if, etc.

/Neutral

Only you all can convince me if its good or not.

I've always wanted to see more items and randomization with them in GW. yes, GW is about skills, but I think it would be awesome to have it expanded into skills, and more.

This exact concept: /notsigned

The general idea: /signed

My arguement is such:
The exact concept as it is, is very unrefined and crude at the moment.
The general idea however does add new stuff to the game, but the fear for me at least is, if they have special stats, that would induce a lot more farm and grind. If its simply for aschetics and bragging rights then go for it >.>

Meh thats just my opinion, I could be wrong...

I think green armor would be cool. The bad thing is, most green weapons or focus items or shields are perfect. So, the armor would be too good. I know that seems impossible to have too good of armor, at least in PvP anyways. It might be ok for PvE, but people who can't get it in PvP are at a huge disadvantage. (i am saying this assuming the armor would be unlockable in PvP, not given to you right away like the other armor)

well i think the idea is alright but just another idea why make the armor have special bonuses why cant it just look awsome but have the same stats as any other high end armor that would still give people an incentive to get it for the looks with out changing the entire game dynamic and with the new factions armor with the +health and that maby just a combinaion of effects on one piece but the two effects are lowered so as not to make it supremly better but slightly

/my 2 cents

that defeats the whole point of customising them to a pve char so they can't be used in pve...

Thinking about it, even that notion is flawed. PVE chars can get to HA. Hell, I play in HA with a pve monk. He's no worse than a PVP char as he has perfect customised gear, and I can roll faster than anoyone else.
